NEW DELHI: The school of open learning at the Delhi University has proposed several new courses to be offered in distance learning or online mode.

The proposed courses include BA (Hons) in economics, BSc (Hons) in mathematics, bachelor of business administration (BBA), masters of business administration (MBA), bachelor of management studies (BMS), bachelor of library sciences, and masters in library and information sciences.

The school of open learning is also proposing one-year diploma courses in mass communication and journalism in English and Hindi, and in cultivation of edible mushrooms. It also proposed a one-year postgraduate diploma in automated and digital library management.

The National Education Policy 2020 has set a target of achieving a GER of 50 percent by 2035. “While libraries in India are increasingly using IT products and services, library schools are slow in restructuring their curriculum in the light of the changes taking place. Fresh graduates in library and information sciences find themselves bewildered when they are in libraries using computers and other IT products and services,” the proposal statement for automated and digital library management said.

DU admission

DU admission 2022 will not be based solely on board exam results but based on a combination of board exam scores and performance in the Central University Common Entrance Test, or CUCET 2022.
