NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting on universalisation of quality education through digital education.

“With officials of EduMinOfIndia, MSDESkillIndia, prasarbharati and BISAG, held a discussion on universalisation of quality education through digital education,” Dharmendra Pradhan said in a social media post.

Pradhan added: “By bridging the digital divide and reaching the unreached, we aim to bring greater inclusion in education. Called for innovative approach towards leveraging technology to expand existing platforms to cover the spectrum of education and skill development.”

“Pradhan called for strengthening and expanding the existing Swayam Prabha Initiative and synergizing initiatives like National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) and National Educational Technology Forum (NETF),” as per an official statement.

Dharmendra Pradhan further said that a committee may be formed under Chairpersonship of Secretary, DoSEL with senior officials from School Education, Higher Education, Ministry of Skill Development, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Telecommunication, Prasar Bharti, Ministry of I&B, BISAG-N and Department of Space.

Recently, the Ministry of Education has formed the National Steering Committee for the development of National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs).

The Committee will finalise NCFs after incorporating suggestions received from various stakeholders, such as states, Union Territories and also in the meetings of Executive Committee (EC) and General Body (GB) of the NCERT and Central Advisory Board on Education(CABE).
