NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the second edition of the research and development innovation fair, IInvenTiv-2024, at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad. The event will showcase 120 groundbreaking projects from 53 institutions.
“IInvenTiv signifies a momentous gathering of brilliant minds, shaping the trajectory of our nation. Education plays a crucial role in realizing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and this event catalyzes transformative change,” Dharmendra Pradhan said in his inaugural speech.
Chairman of BoG, IIT Hyderabad, BVR Mohan Reddy said: “This ministry of education flagship event is forming an unprecedented partnership between academics and business, unleashing a surge of innovation that will improve our nation's future. Over 2000 industry players make this event a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The technologies presented here are crucial to the future of our nation.”
“I am confident that this effort will spark dramatic change, opening up unlimited possibilities and leading to a brighter future," he added.

Over 53 institutions, including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, participated in IInvenTiv-2024, presenting 120 groundbreaking projects spanning five key domains: affordable healthcare, agriculture and food processing, sustainable technologies, defence and space, and industry 4.0.
"IInvenTiv is synonymous with innovative brilliance, and I appreciate seeing researchers' amazing ideas and initiatives unfold. This event shows IIT Hyderabad's dedication to innovation, ranking No. 3 in the Ministry of Education's NIRF Ranking for Innovation,” BS Murty, IIT Hyderabad director said.
Following are the key highlights of IInvenTiv-2024 hosted by IIT Hyderabad.
120 cutting-edge projects: From orthopaedic implants to lean burn engines, 3D printed buildings to indigenous anti-hail guns, the participating institutes will showcase innovative projects.
Industry-academia collaboration: Over 2,000 industry leaders and stakeholders, including Cyient, Honeywell, Applied Materials, Bharat Forge Ltd, ICICI, Synergy, Sun Pharma, Suzuki Motors, Bosch, Schneider Electric, and NTPC, among others, were present at the IInvenTiv-2024 inaugural event.
Panel discussions with renowned experts: Five panel discussions that will be moderated by directors of IITs and industry veterans and academic leaders will facilitate knowledge exchange.
