Digital Evaluation System to be introduced for CA Final exams, effective from May 2020 session

New Delhi: The new torchbearers of ICAI, President CA Atul Kumar Gupta and Vice President CA Nihar Niranjan addressed a Press Conference today giving out some major changes and developments in the Chartered Accountancy ecosystem. One of the major announcements that came from the president was that ICAI will introduce a Digital Evaluation System for CA Final exams (for both old and new syllabus) starting from the May 2020 session. The decision has been made to expedite the answer sheet checking process.
What Does Digital Evaluation System Mean?

ICAI will now use technology to digitally evaluate the OMR sheets of CA Final starting from the May session.

Also, ICAI has decided to take help of technology to verify the answer books of students to shorten the overall time taken for the process.
Other Major Announcements

ICAI is working in the direction of developing a new regulatory environment wherein disciplinary cases shall be wrapped up in less than a year’s time. For this, the authorities are looking forward to introduce E-Hearing where both the parties will not be required to be physically present.

ICAI will establish a first of its kind Sustainable Accounting Standards Board to help companies achieve sustainable development goals.
ICAI will conduct CA Final May 2020 exams on May 2, 4, 6 and 9 for Group 1 and on May 11, 13, 15 and 17, 2020 for Group 2 simultaneously for both old and new syllabus. The exam forms of CA Final May 2020 session are currently available on the official website.
