Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra holds 92nd convocation, awards 79,832 degrees

Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU), Agra organised its 92nd convocation, where 79,832 students were awarded degrees and 88 medals were given to 64 meritorious students. Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Governor and chancellor of state universities was the chief guest at the ceremony.

Of the 88 medals, the university presented 46 medals to female students and 18 to male graduates , according to the press release.

The UP Governor also distributed 300 Anganwadi kits for Agra and 200 for Etawah, and said that 71,293 Anganwadi centres across Uttar Pradesh have already been strengthened.

She also said 600 girls from Agra and Etawah, including daughters of police personnel, were vaccinated as part of the state's public welfare initiatives.

UP Gov launches university development projects

Congratulating the graduating students, the UP governor also expressed happiness over the strong performance of women students, noting that they won more medals than their male counterparts.

She urged students to honour the sacrifices of their parents, follow the ideals of Dr B R Ambedkar, and use education as a means of serving society and the nation.

Patel also urged mothers to equip daughters with practical life skills alongside formal education.

Appreciating the creativity of schoolchildren and the efforts of teachers, she also reviewed the university's infrastructure projects, and directed officials to address deficiencies in affiliated colleges.

She also inaugurated several university development projects, released books authored by faculty members, and honoured outstanding teachers, athletes and meritorious students.

Yogendra Upadhyay, Higher Education Minister, also took part in the convocation, and said that education should not be limited to earning a degree but should also foster values, social responsibility and nation-building.

He urged students to continue learning throughout life, actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, and contribute to national development.
