NEW DELHI: The BR Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) has started the admission process for the academic year 2023-24. Admission to the undergraduate programmes in AUD will be based on the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG). The new academic year in AUD will likely start on August 1, 2023.

While announcing the AUD 2023 admission and releasing the admission brochure, the Vice Chancellor Anu Singh Lather also said that 85% seats in Ambedkar University will be reserved for students who have passed Class 12th from Delhi. The Vice-Chancellor also announced that if students will have the option to change their priority of college in CUET. Students who have not previously filled the option of AUD in their preference can change it and fill the option of AUD.

As per data shared by the university, as many as 4,72,357 applicants have opted for UG programmes, while 1,92,750 applicants for PG. AUD is also placed at the fourth position among top 10 universities in applications on NTA.

AUD Admission 2023: Number of seats, new programmes

As many as 125 PhD programmes including 18 UG and 27 PG programmes are on offer this year. Admission is set to be done for 1,123 seats in UG and 1,399 PG seats.

The university will launch competency enhancement programmes. The competency enhancement programmes in AUD are set to start with 143 courses in 14 schools.

To promote research culture in the university, a new 100 AUD MRF has been established in PhD. Under this, arrangements have been made to give allowance equal to UGC JRF per month to merit holders. In addition to JRF in AUD, researchers without NET and JRF will also be given an allowance of Rs 16,000 per month.

AUD Admission Fees 2023

Giving detailed information about fee waiver, the Vice-Chancellor said that no fee will be charged from all SC and ST students in Ambedkar University, no creamy layer restriction has also been implemented for this. The provision of 10% for EWS is as per government rules.

The Vice-Chancellor said that under this the full fees of the students whose family income is less than Rs 3 lakh is waived off. 75% fees are waived for students with income between 3 to 4 lakhs, 50% for those with income between 4 to 5 lakhs and 25% for those with monthly income between 5 lakh to 6 lakhs. She pointed out that 39% of the AUD's budget is spent on the student support system.

AUD Admission 2023: Provision of reservation

One seat each has been kept in each programme under sports and CCA quota has been reserved. Apart from these, provision of reservation has also been kept for defense, kashmiri displaced, PWD and single girl child under supernumerary quota.
