DSE Haryana to take action against schools forcing parents to buy books from select shops

School Education Haryana: Complaints were raised against private schools in Haryana for forcing parents to buy expensive books from private publishers.
NEW DELHI: Haryana government will take action against private schools that force parents to buy books, workbooks, stationery, shoes, socks, uniforms among others from recommended shops, said the Directorate of School Education, Haryana. The state government has instructed all district education officers of the state in this regard, in an official letter.
"Action will be taken against private schools in Haryana forcing parents to buy books etc. from recommended shops. In this regard, the Haryana government has given instructions to all the district education officers of the state," said the letter from directorate school education.

As per various media reports, there have been allegations against different private schools in Haryana for forcing parents to buy expensive books from private publishers. Apart from this, there have been complaints regarding fee hikes and withholding of results. Many parents say that they are forced to buy books from certain shops.
