Admission without exam to 400 seats in DTU, NSUT, others for Delhi Government students

The top 10 performing student teams will get direct admission to BBA programmes. The 400 seats are for government school students in the ‘Business Blaster’ programme.

Predict NowNEW DELHI : Delhi’s education minister, Manish Sisodia said the Delhi Government has created 400 seats in prestigious higher education institutions for students excelling in the Business Blasters programme . The student will be granted direct admission, bypassing entrance exams.

Students studying in government schools who will develop and sustain a successful business idea will be given direct admission without entrance exam to institutes like Delhi Technological University, IP University, Netaji Subhas University of Technology and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women .

The Delhi Government plans to hold a business carnival with the top 100 projects of Business Blasters project and the children included in the top 10 projects will get direct admission to BBA course in these institutions. The business summit called ‘Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum Carnival’ will also allow students to pitch their business plans before private investors. The students will be able to receive funding to expand their business ideas further.
“We have created 400 seats in Delhi Government higher education institutions like Delhi Technological University , IP University , Netaji Subhas University of Technology etc for students who will perform well in our Business Blasters programme. These children will not be asked to write the entrance exam,” Sisodia told Careers360 . The seats will be open for students from next year onwards.

Launched in September, Delhi Government’s new initiative, Business Blasters, aims to encourage students to build their start-ups while still studying in schools. To support the business plans, the government will provide Rs 2,000 seed money to each student participating in the programme. The government will spend Rs 60 crore on 3.5 lakh students participating in the programme.
“Students of Class 11 and 12 are being encouraged to team up and make business plans and execute them to develop an entrepreneurship mindset. Through this programme we aim to build the confidence of students to compete in the job market and become job providers,” Sisodia added.
