DU adds five UG seats per course as relief during COVID-19

The seats will be supernumerary, that is, over and above the sanctioned strength.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University administration has allowed five additional undergraduate seats in every affiliated college of the university. The seats will be supernumerary, that is, over and above the sanctioned strength.

On request of colleges, the DU administration constituted a committee to explore the possibility to provide few seats to the colleges in view of the COVID-19 pandemic for admission in UG (undergraduate) courses.

As per a notification issued by the university, “The Competent Authority of the University has approved the recommendation of the committee for 5 admissions under 'College - University seats' in the current academic session 2020-2021.”

The Principal of the colleges have been permitted for allowing five seats (out of which two may be suggested by the university) admissions in UG courses under 'College University Seats' on a supernumerary basis.

The merit of the candidates eligible for admission under the category be up to five percent up to 10 percent of the last cut off issued by the college.
