NEW DELHI JUNE 19- DU DSJ, the online entrance exam for sixty odd seats in each English and Hindi Medium concluded at 10:00 a.m on July 19. The entrance exam was held for the five-year integrated course in journalism which is being offered at Delhi School of Journalism.

The entrance exam was conducted in different parts of the country at various exam centres. Candidates found entrance exam to be moderately difficult. According to the aspirants, maximum questions were from General Knowledge. Khushal, one of the aspirant attempted 50% of questions. Most of the questions according to him were from general knowledge. On being asked if he faced any technical glitches, he said. “My calculator was not working. Rest all was fine.” However, there were no other reports of any technical problem at the time of the exam.

More than 11,800 applications were received by the authorities for the entrance the exam. Since the entrance exam was held in online mode, the authorities had set up facilitation centres for the candidates so that they could take up mock exams and get an idea as to how to navigate between different sections and also get an idea about the marking scheme.

Kirti, another aspirant of DU DSJ in an interaction with Careers360 said, “I took various mock test at the facilitation centres. In mock tests, there were 80 questions. The questions in the mock tests were mostly from current Affairs and general knowledge." On being asked what is her strong area, she said, "My strong area is English." However, she added, "I want to take up hotel management as a career. DU DSJ is my back up option.”

It is for the second year that DU DSJ entrance exam is being conducted. In 2017, the exam was held for the first time in September. Candidates who had secured at least 50% marks in their Class XII, they were eligible to appear for the entrance exam.

The result of the entrance exam is likely to be declared in the last week of June 2018. After the announcement of the result, candidates will have to report to the college campus, where they will have to get their documents verified and pay the fees so that their admission can be confirmed.
