DU DSJ receives 11,800 applications for its 5-year journalism programme

Delhi School of Journalism, which came into existence in 2017, has received 11, 800 applications for its five year integrated journalism programme for the academic session which will commence from July 20, 2018. Candidates can pursue the journalism programme at Delhi School Of Journalism either in English or in Hindi. The entrance exam for DU DSJ will be conducted in online mode on June 19, 2018 in different parts of the country.

In 2017, during its first year of existence, the college had received approximately 2,500 applications and the session had also commenced in September. However, this year, registration for the entrance exam began on May 15 and the last date for filling the application form was June 7.

Candidates will receive an SMS between June 13 and 14, 2018 with regard to downloading of the admit card. In the admit card of DU DSJ 2018, candidates will get to know the date and time of the entrance test and the exact address.

There are 60 seats each in the five-year integrated course which are being offered in English and Hindi medium. There are 30 seats each in both the mediums for the general category, 16 each for OBC, 9 each for Schedule Caste, 5 each for ST category. There are also 9 supernumerary seats in both the mediums for, 3 seats each for persons with disability, 3 each for CW and 3 seats each for the both the English and Hindi Mediums for foreign students.

Candidates who do not wish to pursue their masters, they will have the option to leave the course on completion of their three-year graduation programme.

Meanwhile, in the online entrance exams, candidates will be assessed on their knowledge of current affairs, general knowledge, media aptitude and logical reasoning.

In the two hour test, candidates will have to answer 100 multiple choice questions.

The result of the entrance exam is likely to be declared in the last week of June.
