NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi will close the facility to accept the allocated seats on October 22, 2022. Candidates who have been allotted course and college as per the first list of seat allocations will have to accept to be considered for further rounds of DU UG admission 2022.

Names of 80,164 candidates for DU admission 2022 to various undergraduate programmes were listed in the DU first merit list. Of which, 60,863 candidates have so far accepted. A total of 39,526 candidates’ applications are under process.

Urging all applicants to accept the allocation, DU assistant professor Monami Basu on Facebook asked all candidates to accept the allocation to be considered for the DU 2nd merit list.

Candidates who are not satisfied with the course and college allotted in the DU first merit list will be given an option upgrade in a few days. However, to be eligible to avail the facility, students have to accept the allotted seat in the first merit list and make payment before the deadline.

The DU colleges will be able to verify and approve the online applications from October 19 to October 22. The last date for online payment of admission fees for the first round of DU CSAS allocation is October 24. According to data provided by the university, more than 1.5 lakh applicants marked their college and course preferences till the last date for Phase II last week.

The number of vacant seats will be displayed on October 25, 2022, by 5 PM, as per the DU admission 2022 schedule. Students will be able to re-order higher preference from October 25 to 27. Following this, the university will declare the DU 2nd allocation list on October 30, 2022, by 5 PM.

“Your fees will be automatically transferred to the upgraded college if you get an upgrade,” the DU assistant professor said.

“Many students are not accepting thinking that they will be stuck with the course they have been allocated. No you won't be, but if you don't accept you are out of the race altogether,” she said in a Facebook post.

DU Registrar Vikas Gupta, however, told the Hindustan Times, "About 50% of admissions are already under process. The chances of the second round of allocation in campus colleges are almost nil but we will know for sure after the first round."
