The University of Delhi has announced the undergraduate (UG) admission policy for the academic year 2026-27 through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026). The DU UG information brochure 2026 has been uploaded on the Common Seat Allocation System (UG) portal, admission.uod.ac.in, today.

It is mandatory for candidates to appear in CUET UG 2026 in those subjects they have studied in Class 12, as per the eligibility criteria. There is no major change introduced in this year’s DU UG admission process.

Even though the University Grants Commission relaxed the norms and allowed students to appear for subjects that they have not studied in Class 12, the DU has retained its admission criteria limiting students from appearing in subjects they have not opted in their senior secondary education.

DU Admissions 2026: Registration guidelines

Delhi University has notified the eligibility criteria and registration guidelines for different categories.

Regular students – Indian citizens or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are eligible to apply under the regular category. All candidates, including those applying under the supernumerary quota, should register for the CUET UG 2026 through the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.

However, to participate in the DU CSAS seat allocation process, CUET qualified candidates should register on the portal, admission.uod.ac.in.

DU School of Open Learning (SOL) - Candidates seeking admission through DU SOL should register at sol.du.ac.in. DU admission to SOL and NCWEB will not be based on the CUET scores; instead, Class 12 marks will be considered for offering seats.

Non-collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) – Candidates seeking admission to NCWEB should register at ncwebadmission.uod.ac.in. NCWEB offers two undergraduate programmes namely BA and BCom, and admission will be based on the merit score obtained in Class 12.

Foreign nationals – 10% supernumerary seats in each programme are reserved for foreign nationals. The university has launched a separate admission portal, fsr.du.ac.in, for foreign students.

DU CUET UG subject list 2026

The list of subject combinations in DU List A and B remains the same as last year. The university has 91 colleges, 86 departments, 16 faculties, and over 6.5 lakh students. DU teachers have been opposing the adoption of CUET, which has significantly impacted the academic calendar and delayed subsequent processes for years since its inception.

Five subjects – legal studies, engineering graphics, teacher training, entrepreneurship, and knowledge tradition and practices of India – were removed from DU List B last year. There are 14 languages in List A and 22 subjects in List B.
