DUSU Election Results 2026: ABVP's Yash Dabas is the new president; independent Deepanshu Shokeen takes VP

The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) 2026 election results have been announced for all four central panel posts. Yash Dabas of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (APVP) has won the President post with 24,576 votes, defeating National Students' Union of India's (NSUI) Vijay Shankar Meena of 22,523 votes. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen has claimed the Vice President post with 30,615 votes, while Aranaya Singh Rathore secure 22,744 votes.

Riya Chhawdi (W) has secured the Secretary post with 21,650 votes, defeating NSUI's Namrata Chaudhary with 14,869 votes. The Joint Secretary post is acquired by ABVP's Lakshya Raj Singh with 16,615 votes, slight ahead of independent candidate Vishesh Yadav, receiving 15,778 votes.

DUSU Elections 2026: Over 23,900 votes for NOTA

The final DUSU 2026 election results places ABVP on top with three central DUSU posts, while the Vice-President post goes to an independent candidate.

According to the official voting data, a total of 60,845 votes were given to the President post, 60,854 for Vice President, 60,776 for secretary, and 60,825 for joint secretary.

While, the NOTA received an overall of 23,942 votes, including 4,310 for President post, 4,359 for Vice President, 7,884 for secretary, and 7,389 for joint secretary.

DUSU 2026 Election Results: ABVP sweeps 3 posts

The ABVP has reclaimed its President's post as Yash Dabas secured maximum votes. Similarly, the RSS-backed party's Riya Chhawdi also acquired the Secretary posts and won 21,650 votes in the DUSU 2026 elections.

A total of 1,000 electronic voting machines (EVMs) were used for the elections, of which 960 were deployed for polling and 40 kept in reserve.

Over 2,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across Delhi University, with travel restrictions for transport and beefed-up security around the counting centre.

The DUSU 2026 election was polled on several key matters, including student welfare, campus facilities, hostel accommodation and safety.
