NEW DELHI: Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is admitted to the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in New Delhi. The education minister was admitted due to post COVID-19 complications, according to Asian News International (ANI). He contracted the coronavirus in April.

According to PTI sources, the minister is admitted under Dr Neeraj Nischal, an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He (Pokhriyal) was admitted due to post-Covid complications on Tuesday morning.

This development came just as the central government was to announce a decision on the CBSE Class 12 board exams. The minister in April had announced that a decision on the matter will be taken after a review meeting on June 1. Appearing for the Centre at the hearing on Monday, Attorney General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court that the government will make a decision on conducting Class 12 exams by Thursday.

The Supreme Court is hearing a PIL that seeks directions to cancel the Class 12 board exams conducted by the CBSE and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). At present, offline exams for both have been postponed but not cancelled.
