Eminent fashion, design personalities inspire students of World University of Design

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 2: The World University of Design (WUD) organized a two-day new student orientation program cum welcome ceremony with traditional fervour and gusto to induct the new batch of student from across the country on 2nd and 3rd August. Eminent personalities from the fashion, design, architecture and communication space came in as keynote speakers and gave inspiring insights on their professional journey.
In his keynote address Anuj Prasad, Founder, Director & CEO of Desmania Design led the students through 27 years of his journey as a design entrepreneur which led to Desmania Design emerging as India’s Best Industrial Design Studio. Prasad illustrated his engaging talk with several examples from his 500+ Products & 1000+ Project portfolio.
Another keynote speaker Amardeep Behl, Director – Design Habit & Chief Designer behind the museum Virasat-e-Khalsa in Anandpur Sahib, talked to the students about finding expression and deeper meaning in working with space to merge various media, like architecture, graphic design, industrial design, audio-visual and digital multimedia into a common language. He shared his journey towards finding and creating an Indian expression of design, a design language strongly rooted in its culture and traditions, eminently applicable in the contemporary times
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, World University of Design(WUD) urged students to utilize their days at the University in acquiring quality knowledge in order to be better prepared for the emerging global opportunities in the design space. He said, “New student orientation at the World University of Design is designed to be fun, informative and helps make students feel at home as they make they make the transition to life at World University of Design. It is the moment in which students begin to create connections with the College and with each other, enabling them to create a vibrant interactive community during the 3 to 4 years of their academic journey at WUD and beyond into their professional lives as they pursue their passion for Design.”
