Fake notice on new ICAI CA May exam dates going viral, claim chartered accountants

NEW DELHI : A fake notice on new exam dates of the ICAI CA May 2024 is making rounds on social media, claimed chartered accountants and aspirants. The CAs asked aspirants and students to wait for the official ICAI announcement. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will announce the revised schedule for CA Inter, Final May 2024 exams in the evening today, March 19.

According to the fake notice, CA Inter exams May 2024 will be held on June 8, 10, 12 for group 1 and June 14, 16, and 18 for group 2. ICAI CA Final May 2024 exams will be conducted on June 7, 9, and 11 for group 1 and on June 13, 15, and 17 for group 2, the fake notice said.
The institute had postponed CA Inter and Final exams for May 2024 to avoid clash with Lok Sabha general elections. The CA Inter May 2024 exams were scheduled from May 3 to May 13 and CA Final group 1 and 2 exams were supposed to be held from May 2 to 12.
Prior to exam postponement, various aspirants and CAs speculated that exams may be deferred by three weeks . The institute had earlier announced that it may postpone the CA May session exams to avoid clash with the 18th Lok Sabha polls this year.

Clarifying that the notice is fake, a CA aspirant wrote on X, “Fake news regarding the icai exam dates doing the rounds. Wait for institute's announcement later today.”
A chartered accountant said in a post on X, “A fake forward is viral for CAExams postponement. Pls note ICAI will declare rescheduling by today EOD.”
A CA Inter qualified candidate shared a WhatsApp conversation with CA Dhiraj Khandelwal where he is shown saying that the dates are fake. “This is Fake Information regarding CA Exams May 2024, please wait for official notification from ICAI, Dhiraj Sir clarified about this,” he wrote.
