NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has warned students against a fake letter claiming that board exams 2024 have been postponed due to farmers’ protest. The board clarified in a social media post that the letter is fake and misleading and that CBSE has not taken any such decision.

“It has come to the notice of the board that because of farmers’ protest, there are problem faced out by the board, they are unable to appear in the schools as per the government guidelines board exams of class XII has been postponed, as soon as you will be informed with new dates,” the fake notice said.

The fake CBSE letter on postponement of CBSE Class 12 board exams 2024 also listed down the process for making a request to change the exam dates. It said that students will have to request the schools to change the dates for theory exams or practicals or both. While making the request, students will have to inform the schools about the city they would like to appear for the exam in.

The fake letter went on to give instructions to schools regarding the change in dates of board exams. “Based on the request received by the school from the student, school will login into school account on the CBSE website and submit the details of the student i.e. name of the student, roll no., change required in theory, change required in practical, change required in both, required city/country etc.,” it said.

The fake board notice further said that no changes will be allowed in the choice of city for the exam centre once the request is submitted by the school.
