NEW DELHI: PIB Fact Check, a government agency, informed government job aspirants about a fake website claiming to be associated with the Ministry of Skill Development and is asking for Rs 1,645 as an application fee for recruitment in government projects.

“A fake website 'http://rashtriyaunnatikendra.org' is claiming to be associated with the 'Ministry of Skill Development' and is asking for Rs 1645 as an application fee for recruitment in govt. Projects,” PIB wrote on Twitter.

According to the fake website, Rashtriya Unnati Kendra is an organisation “with Pan India Branch Network of nearly 224 branches, with total business of more than Rs.500 Crores and driven by talented work force of 31000+employees, is inviting applications from eligible candidates.”

The website, which claims to be associated with Skill India, further said the examination fee is mandatory for the "sitting arrangement" and that applicants of all categories should remit an application fee of Rs 1645 for recruitment.

Recently, PIB Fact Check also warned students against a fake notice on offline exams in all universities for semester exams which was circulating on social media. It said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has not issued any such notice.

On November 30, Skill India, a campaign by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched a programme to upskill street food vendors and help them become eligible for e-Cart licences.

The objective of this programme is to provide relevant skills to the vendors, to provide better services to consumers, more opportunities to vendors for revenue generation, awareness on regulations and stipulated rules, in return providing better services to the local bodies.
