FMGE 2024: NBE to conduct Foreign Medical Graduate Exam tentatively in January

NEW DELHI: National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) 2024 exam will likely be conducted in January 2024. Candidates appearing for FMGE 2024 exam can check the official notification through the official website, natboard.edu.in.

The FMGE 2024 exam will be held online in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at various test centers across the country. The board is yet to announce the exact date and time to conduct FMGE 2024 exam.

“The applicants who are desirous to appear in next Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) are hereby informed that National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) shall conduct the next FMGE tentatively in January 2024 on a Computer Based Platform at various test centers across the country”, said the official notice.

The notice has advised the applicants to refer the NBEMS website regularly for final schedule of examination, as the above schedule is purely tentative.

The FMGE 2024 exam comprise of a total of 300 multiple-choice questions. The paper will be divided into two sections. Candidates will be allotted 150 minutes to answer each section. The FMGE 2023 exam for the December session is expected to be held at 40 test cities across the country.

Interested candidate must be a medical graduate with their primary medical qualification from abroad to be eligible to practice medicine in India. Apart from this, the candidate needs to be a citizen of India or overseas citizens of India to appear for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination.

FMGE exam is a screening test for medical graduates to be eligible to practice medicine in the country. The exam is conducted twice by the National Board of Examinations for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to obtain the registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).
