GAT-B 2024 on April 20; top participating institutes, scholarships

GAT-B 2024 will be held for admission into MSc Biotechnology, MTech Biotechnology, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology and MVSc Animal Biotechnology programmes.
NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test Biotechnology (GAT-B 2024) on April 20. GAT-B 2024 will be conducted for admissions to postgraduate programmes in biotechnology and allied sciences which are supported by the department of biotechnology. The computer-based test will be held from 9 am to 12 noon.
Students clearing GAT-B 2024 can apply for admission into MSc Biotechnology, MTech Biotechnology, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology and MVSc Animal Biotechnology programmes of the participating institutes. The exam will be held in English only.
GAT-B 2024 exam pattern
The GAT-B 2024 question paper will be divided into two sections. Section A will have 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on Class 12 syllabus of physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology. Students will be awarded one mark for each correct answer while 0.5 marks will be deducted for a wrong response.
Section B of GAT-B 2024 will have 100 questions, of which students will have to attempt 60. The questions will cover topics, such as basic biology, life sciences, biotechnology and allied sciences. Each correct response will fetch three marks while one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
DBT stipend
Students enroled in MSc Biotechnology and Allied Sciences will get a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 and those in MSc Agricultural Biotechnology will get Rs 7,500. Students in MTech Biotechnology and allied sciences, and MVSc Programmes will get a monthly scholarship of Rs 12,000.

Top 10 institutes accepting GAT-B scores
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will conduct admission to PG biotechnology and allied sciences programmes through the GATE 2024 and JAM 2024 scores.
