GAT B, BET 2026 provisional answer key out; objection window closes today

The GAT B 2026 BET was conducted in two shifts. The morning shift was held from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift was conducted from 3 to 6 pm.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key, question papers and recorded responses for the Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B) and Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2026. The entrance examinations were conducted on May 17 in computer-based mode across 54 cities and 79 centres for 26,622 registered candidates. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check the provisional answer key through the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/gat-bet/.
Deadline to raise objections ends on May 24 till 11:50 pm. Candidates who are not satisfied with the provisional answer key can submit objections online by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question challenged. Candidates can upload supporting documents in a single PDF file while submitting objections online. Objections raised by candidates will be examined by a panel of subject experts. If any of the challenge raised is found valid, the answer key will be revised. The final result will then be prepared on the basis of the revised final answer key.
Steps to check GAT-B, BET 2026 provisional answer key
Candidates can follow the steps given below to access the GAT B, BET answer key and response sheet :
- Go to the official website exams.nta.nic.in
- On homepage, click on the “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key” link
- Log in using the application number and password
- Click on “View Question Paper” to check the recorded responses
- Select “View/Challenge Answer Key” to access provisional answer key
- Download and save the answer key for future reference.
Official notice reads, "The challenges will be considered only after successful payment of the requisite fee. No challenge will be accepted without payment. Since, it is one-time facility candidates are advised to submit the challenge very carefully, as no further opportunity for challenge will be given to the candidates after final submission/successful payment. In case of any difficulty, please contact on 011 - 40759000/011 - 69227700 or email helpdesk dbt@nta.ac.in." For more details, one can go to the official website.
BET 2025 saw strong participation from biotechnology aspirants across categories, with over 17,900 candidates registering and 13,272 appearing for the exam. Female candidates outnumbered male candidates in both registrations and attendance. GAT-B 2025 and BET 2025 were conducted for admission to postgraduate biotechnology programmes and award of DBT-JRF fellowships in biotechnology research.
