GATE 2019 application process ends on October 1

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 28- Candidates who wish to apply for GATE 2019 need to hurry up. IIT Madras will be closing the application process for GATE 2019 on October 1. However, candidates who will be filling and submitting the application form after September 23 will have to pay a late fee of Rs 500 (USD 20 for centres abroad). To fill the application form candidates will have to register through GOAPS where they need to submit their personal, academic and contact details. The entire application process of GATE 2019 is in online mode only.

Earlier on September 27, exam conducting body, IIT Madras has opened the correction window for the candidates to rectify the error committed by them while submitting the form. However, candidates cannot edit or modify all the information in the application form. For certain information, which is not editable, candidates will have to write a mail to the authorities with the documented proof to rectify them.
The online GATE 2019 will be conducted on February 2, 3, 9 & 10. The admit card for the same will be issued on January 4, 2019, in online mode only. Candidates will have to download the admit card and take a print out of it as, without it, they will not be permitted to appear for the entrance exam. On March 16, 2019 result will be announced for all the qualified candidates.
GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Mumbai on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE scores are for a period of 3 years from the date of announcement of the GATE result. The entrance exam is held for the admission of various M.Tech programmes offered by Universities/Colleges. Also, various PSUs also offer recruitment based on the GATE performance of the candidates.
