GATE 2019 Registrations to end on September 21; extended date with late fees till October 1

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 21: IIT Madras will close the registrations for GATE 2019 on September 21. Candidates who have not yet filled the application form of GATE 2019 are advised to fill and submit it by today evening itself. However, they may suffer problems due to load on the server.

Also, after filling and submitting the application form today, they may not be able to download it as they were able to before. The downloading of application form has been disabled for next few days. Candidates will be able to download it after few days, says the official website.

Now, to be able to fill and submit GATE 2019 application form in one go, candidates are advised to keep the following documents ready before they start filling the form:

Documents to keep ready for filling GATE Application Form 2019

  • Candidates' scanned photograph and signature
  • Personal Details and Address for Communication (including PIN Code) Details
  • Eligibility Degree details
  • GATE paper (subject) and choice of exam cities
  • Net banking/ credit card/ debit card details for payment of fees
  • Valid Photo Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ College ID/ Employee Identification Card/ Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address). The identity proof required by foreign students are Passport/ Government Issued ID/ College ID/ Employee ID.
  • Degree Certificate/ Provisional Certificate/ Course Completion Certificate (Candidates who have completed their graduation in 2018 or earlier)
  • Copy of Mark Sheet of the fifth or sixth or seventh semester as the case may be (Candidates who are in their final year).
  • Final year students will also have to submit their Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Department
  • Candidates in final year of AMIE will have to keep ready their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable) as per given format
  • Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable)
  • Candidates who were pursuing higher degree or masters had to submit the qualifying degree certificate or provisional one.
  • Candidates with backlogs had to upload copy of any of the mark sheet of the final year issued by the institute where they are studying.

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to fill the application form of GATE 2019:

Step 4- Preview of Filled Application Form

Step 5- Payment of Requisite Application Fees

Step 6- Submission of Filled Application Form


    Salient features of GATE application form 2019

    • The authorities of IIT Madras will scrutinize the submitted GATE 2019 application form for data accuracy. If any discrepancy is found, candidates will be informed through email or SMS.

    • Candidates will be able to check their application status after logging into their GOAPS account. It is advised to rectify the discrepancies within the allotted time otherwise the application form will get rejected.

    • The time for correction of application form will be given to candidates from September 24 onwards.

    • If candidates do not receive their enrollment ID via email, then they will receive it through SMS to their registered mobile number.

    The last date to submit GATE 2019 application form along with late fees of Rs 500 is October 1.
