IIT Bombay will declare the result of GATE 2021 in online mode on the GATE website - gate.iitb.ac.in. To check GATE result 2021, candidates will have to login using GATE registration ID/email address/enrollment ID and password.
After the declaration of GATE 2021 result, IIT Bombay will release the score card for qualified candidates. GATE exam scores will be accepted by IITs for M.tech admission and for recruitment in PSUs.
IIT Bombay will use formulas for converting the marks of candidates to score. Since some papers are conducted in multiple sessions, to arrive at a normalized score of these multiple session papers, a suitable GATE normalization formula will be applied to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions.
The GATE normalization is done based on the fundamental assumption that "in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions".
GATE 2021 Normalisation Formula
For all GATE papers for which there is only one session, actual marks obtained by the candidates are used for calculating the GATE Score. For papers in multi-session, normalized marks are used for calculating the GATE score. The following formula is used to calculate the GATE score.
