GATE 2022 exam will be conducted for 29 papers this year. Two new papers namely, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering were also introduced.
Indian Institute of Kharagpur, the conducting authority, informed candidates who are planning to appear for two papers to fill only one GATE 2022 application form. It also said that in case of multiple applications, only one will be accepted and the remaining applications will be rejected without any refund for the paid fee.
It is important to note that candidates appearing in two subjects can only choose the second paper from the allowed combination. IIT Kharagpur has released a new paper combination list.

Candidates must familiarize themselves with the paper code as it is required both during application and examination.
Important things to remember for candidates appearing in 2 papers

The second choice of paper has to be chosen from the allowed combinations.

If certain combinations may be removed from the list at a later date, the fee paid towards the second paper will be refunded to the candidates.

The GATE 2022 examination centre of a candidate for the second paper may be different (but in the same city) from that for the first paper.

According to the exam pattern, each GATE 2022 exam paper is for a total of 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common for all papers, which carried 15 marks and the rest of the paper covers the respective syllabus (85 marks). GATE 2022 will be conducted for a duration of three hours in computer-based mode.
