GATE 2024: New paper on Data Science, AI introduced; total papers now 30

NEW DELHI: A new paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence has been introduced for the 2024 edition of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, or GATE. The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc Bengaluru) is organising GATE 2024. With the introduction of the new paper -- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, or DA, the total number of subjects has increased to 30.

Students applying for GATE 2024 can also opt for two papers from the prescribed set of combinations. With the introduction of GATE 2024 new paper on DA, the two paper combinations have also been increased.

IISc Bengaluru has withdrawn the international centres for GATE 2024 exam. Candidates who are currently studying in the third or higher years of any undergraduate degree programme or who have completed any government approved degree programme in engineering, technology, science, architecture, humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2024. Last year, commerce graduates were also able to appear for GATE, however, this year it has been removed.
GATE 2024 will be held on February 3, 4, 10, and 11 and the IISc Bengaluru will likely start GATE 2024 registration from August 24. GATE 2024 paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. While the general aptitude (GA) section is common for all papers (15 marks) and rest of the paper will cover the respective syllabus (85 marks).
