The registration process of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2024) is ongoing. Interested applicants will have to submit the GATE 2024 application form by September 29.

The application form is available on the GATE 2024 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), gate2024.iisc.ac.in. About 6.70 lakh candidates registered for the GATE exam last year. Out of which around 5.17 lakh appeared and around 1 lakh candidates were declared qualified.
GATE exam 2024 will be held for 30 test papers spanning engineering, science, architecture, and humanities. This year, IISc has also introduced a new test paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
As per the schedule, GATE 2024 exam dates are February 3, 4, 10, and 11. The results of the exam will be announced on March 16, 2024. The GATE score 2024 is valid for a period of three years.
The exam is conducted by IISc and seven IITs comprising IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.
Admission to postgraduate and direct doctoral programmes and recruitment to several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are also done based on GATE 2024 score.
To apply for the exam, applicants should enter a valid email address and generate password. They will have to login again using the credentials generated to fill the application form. Reserved and female candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 900 and Rs 1,400 if applying during the extended period. All other category candidates will have to deposit Rs 1,800 as application fee and Rs 2,300 if registering after the last date.
