Try NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will end the regular application process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, October 3. Eligible candidates can register for the GATE 2025 exam without a late fee through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. To register for the exam, female candidates, as well as those belonging to the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), and persons with disabilities (PwD) categories, will be required to pay Rs 900 per test paper. All other candidates, including foreign nationals, will have to pay Rs 1,800 per test paper.
As per the schedule, the institute will close the GATE 2025 registration process with a late fee on October 7. During this extended registration period, female candidates and those from SC, ST, and PwD categories will need to pay Rs 1,400 per test paper. All other candidates, including foreign nationals, will be required to pay Rs 2,300 per test paper.

GATE 2025: Admission opportunities
A valid GATE score can be used for seeking admission to master’s programmes and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities, as well as doctoral programmes in relevant branches of engineering.
The institute informed that Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) GRID-INDIA will use the GATE 2025 results for the Electrical Engineering (EE) test papers for recruitment. The Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at IIT Kanpur will also be admitting Master of Technology (MTech) students through the GATE 2025 examination.
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) will use the GATE 2025 results for the Civil Engineering (CE), Chemical Engineering (CH), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) test papers for recruitment.
