JEE Mains Result 2026 date and time

As part of its initial announcement of dates, the NTA had said the JEE result date 2026 would come on or before February 12. More recent news reports said the result could come sooner. JEE Main 2026 Result: Normalisation Process

Through the normalisation process, the National Testing Agency converts raw marks into a standardised NTA score or percentile ranging from 100 to 0. This is a standard practice for exams that are conducted over multiple shifts and days with each shift getting different sets of question papers. This process ensures fairness by preventing students from being disadvantaged if their shift had a tougher paper or the other way around. However, past data and JEE Main cut-off trends can be indicative of both ranks and admission chances

What is the JEE Mains 2026 Qualifying Marks?

The expected JEE Mains 2026 cut-off for the general category is between 93.5 and 95. For the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), it is expected to be between 80 and 82; for Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer (NCL), between 79 and 81; Scheduled Caste (SC), between 61 and 63; for Scheduled Tribe (ST), between for 47.5 and 50; and for Unreserved - Persons with Disability, between 0.001 and 0.02.

CSE remains the toughest branch. Competition is stable but extremely high

February 12, 2026 | 01:44 PM IST

February 12, 2026 | 01:16 PM IST

How do Home State (HS) and Other State (OS) quotas impact ranks?

February 12, 2026 | 12:14 PM IST

February 12, 2026 | 11:59 AM IST

If I improve in Session 2, will my JEE Main Session 1 score be discarded?

February 12, 2026 | 11:48 AM IST

What rank is 99.9 percentile in JEE Mains?

A 99.9 percentile typically corresponds to a rank between 100 and 1,000, depending on the total number of candidates. With over 13.5 lakh students appearing, 99.9 percentile places a candidate among the top 0.1%, making them highly competitive for top NIT CSE branches.

February 12, 2026 | 10:51 AM IST

Is 99th percentile top 1% in JEE Main?

Yes. A 99 percentile means you have scored better than 99% of candidates in your session. It places you in the top 1% of test-takers. However, due to normalisation across shifts, ranks are determined after merging all sessions.

February 12, 2026 | 10:40 AM IST
