Combinations not listed in the official table are not permitted during the initial registration windows, including regular and extended periods. An additional two-paper combination can be made available later, depending on infrastructure and scheduling feasibility, with updates provided on the GATE 2026 website.

The steps to download the GATE 2026 admit card are given below.

• Visit the official GATE 2026 website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in and open the GOAPS portal.
• Enter your enrolment ID or registered email address and password.
• Complete the captcha or any security verification prompted.
• Click on the login button to access your account.
• Download the admit card PDF and save it for printing.
• Take a printout of the admit card on A4 size paper for exam day entry.

Candidates qualifying GATE are eligible for financial assistance for Master’s and Doctoral programmes at government-supported institutions. MTech students receive Rs 12,400 per month for a period of 22 months. For PhD programmes, candidates admitted directly after BTech, BE, or MSc with a valid GATE score receive Rs 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs 42,000 per month from the third to fifth year, as per government norms.

A valid GATE score can be used for admission to Master’s programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, and Humanities. It is also accepted for admission to Doctoral programmes in relevant disciplines, including Commerce and Arts, at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education and other government agencies.

Candidates can download the GATE 2026 admit card by logging in to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) using their enrolment ID or registered email address and password created during registration.

Yes, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) will conduct the GATE 2026 exams on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. The tests will be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays in dual shifts. The exams will be conducted in a computer-based mode. 

The GATE 2026 admit card holds key information such as candidate’s name, enrollment ID, exam centre address, exam date and time, exam paper code, category, among other details. 

As per the official schedule, GATE 2026 results will be declared tentatively on March 19. The GATE 2026 scores will be valid for three years from the date of announcement. 

The IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 entrance test for MTech, MS and PhD admissions on February 7,8,14 and 15 in two shifts. The forenoon shift will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, whereas the afternoon shift will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The GATE 2026 exam is held for admission to MTech, MS, and PhD programmes at IITs, National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). GATE 2026 scores will remain valid for a period of 3 years from the date of result declaration. GATE scores are also used for recruitment to Pubic Section Undertakings (PSUs).
