GATE 2026 Cutoffs: IIT Guwahati announces branch-wise scores, CS threshold set at 30 for general candidates

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced the GATE 2026 branch-wise cutoff marks for each paper along with toppers. The results were declared earlier on March 19 on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Alongside the cutoff scores across papers, the institute has released the cut-off marks as well which will play a key role in determining eligibility for admissions and recruitment. A total of 29 candidates achieved a perfect GATE score of 1000.

Candidates can download their GATE 2026 scorecards from March 27 to May 31. The scores will be used for admission to MTech programmes as well as recruitment by public sector undertakings (PSUs), with cutoffs serving as the minimum qualifying benchmark across different categories.

IIT Guwahati GATE 2026 Cutoff Marks

In the Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) paper, the cutoff for general category candidates is 30, while candidates from other backward classes–non creamy layer (OBC-NCL) and economically weaker sections (EWS) categories need a minimum of 27 marks. For scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and persons with disabilities (PwD) candidates, the cutoff stands at 20.

Similar category-wise cutoff marks have also been announced for other major branches, outlining the minimum scores required for qualification across streams. The cut-off marks for the major branches are mentioned in the below table.

These category-wise cutoffs will determine eligibility for further admission and recruitment processes across institutes and PSUs.
