Students who have completed their graduation or have earned an equivalent degree are eligible to apply.

The ecosophical aesthetics programme is designed to hone budding ‘art writers’. Ecosophy combines ecology and philosophy and is essentially "art journalism from an ecosophical perspective", says the statement. The curriculum includes music, dance, literature, theatre, cinema and painting with a focus on writing.

MA in art and peace studies will concentrate on areas such as society, polity, development studies, gender studies, Gandhian studies, journalism, media and international peace and different forms of art such as music, dance, theatre, visual arts and cinema.

Talking about the courses introduced for the first time, Varadesh Hiregange, director, Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Science said, “I believe these courses will help students explore the ‘root’ of different issues,” further adding “The aim of our department is to cultivate writers with wisdom who can contribute in the fields of journalism, philosophy, ecology, arts and sciences.”
