Goa Institute of Management to organise conclave on environment, social, governance tomorrow

Industry leaders, academicians and experts will discuss topics such as the role of stakeholders and role of external partners in ESG.
NEW DELHI: The Goa Institute of Management (GIM) will organise a national-level conclave ‘Lead, Act and Report on Environment, Social and Governance: Dialogue for a Sustainable Future’. The conclave will be conducted in partnership with UN Global Compact Network India (GCNI), Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) India chapter.
Industry leaders, ESG experts and academicians will participate in the GIM. The conclave will host a dialogue on the role of management schools as well as other higher education institutions in bringing the ESG curricula, research and other activities into the mainstream. The conclave will be held at the ABE auditorium of the GIM.
GIM director Ajit Parulekar will deliver the welcome address and executive director of UN GCNI Ratnesh Jha will give the keynote speech. Jha will provide insights into the global perspective on responsible management.
The conclave will feature a plenary session and two panel discussions. The GIM said the conclave is set against the backdrop of increasing global concerns about environmental, social, and governance issues.

“GIM recognises the urgency of the global call for sustainable practices and is ready to take the lead in this transformative journey. This national dialogue on ESG, also aligns with the institute’s commitment towards shaping responsible leaders and fostering a sustainable future,” the institute added.
The panel discussions will touch upon topics such as ESG vision into actionable steps, creating sustainability-focused mindset across stakeholders, importance of collaboration with external partners, the role of executives and business leaders in driving sustainability-led transitions, building business cases for ESG and others. The speakers will include GCCI president Shrinivas Dempo, MD Capital CleanTech Manish Chaurasia, Partner at Deloitte Inderjeet Singh and Jyotsna Belliappa of BlueSky Sustainable Business.
