NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 26- IIT Madras has closed the window of paper change request for GATE 2019 on October 25. The facility was available from October 17 where candidates were able to make changes in their exam paper after paying the fee (Rs. 300 for Indian and USD 10 for Foreign candidates). Along with this, GOAPS has extended the last date to rectify the marked defect(s) on GATE 2019 application to October 28. Candidates who will not attend the defect(s) by October 28 their application will not be considered for GATE 2019 examination.

The exam conducting body, IIT Madras will be also opening the window for candidates in order to request for a change in test city on November 16. However, an additional fee will be applicable to avail this facility. All the information related to the entrance exam will be furnished on the admit card of GATE 2019 which will be released on January 4 in online. Candidates will be required to check the information mentioned on the admit card and download it as without it they will not be allowed to appear for entrance exam.

The national level postgraduate engineering entrance examination, GATE 2019 will be conducted by IIT Madras on February 2, 3, 9 & 10. GATE 2019 will be held in online mode for 24 papers across 200 cities in India and six cities abroad. From 2019, a new paper "Statistics" has been added to the list. To prepare for the entrance examination in a better way, the authorities will provide GATE 2019 mock later in November for all the candidates. The online mock test will be available free of cost for preparation of the entrance exam so that candidates get familiar with the online pattern.

GATE is held for admission to M.E./M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs and other Universities in India. The entrance exam act as the screening window for the admission to various postgraduate engineering programmes offered by the various colleges and institutes.
