The Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) has urged the Delhi education minister Ashish Sood to grant a reasonable salary hike for guest teachers, along with minimum pay scale and adequate job security.

The Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) has urged the Delhi education minister Ashish Sood to consider a salary hike, minimum pay scale and job security for guest teachers working in Delhi government schools. The group has also sought the release of pending tablet reimbursement payments before Diwali.
The remuneration of guest teachers in Delhi government schools have remained unchanged for the past 10 years, the GSTA said in an official statement.
“GSTA respectfully draws your kind attention to the long-pending and genuine grievances of thousands of Guest Teachers working under the Directorate of Education, GNCTD, as well as the outstanding reimbursement of tablet expenses incurred by teachers,” it said.

The teachers face uncertainty regarding their employment and financial security, adversely affecting their future and family responsibilities, it added.
It has urged the Delhi education minister to grant a reasonable salary hike for guest teachers, along with minimum pay scale and adequate job security.
“GSTA also wishes to highlight the long-pending issue of tablet reimbursement. Pursuant to the directions of the previous Government, teachers purchased tablets from their personal savings for official educational purposes. However, reimbursement of these expenses remains pending to date, causing an unnecessary financial burden on teachers,” it added.
It has sought “immediate intervention” and release of the outstanding payments. It also mentioned in a letter to Sood that the issues were raised several times before.
It has also demanded appropriate directions for the immediate release of all pending tablet reimbursement payments to teachers.
