Gujarat Board sets norms for mass promotion of GSHSEB Class 9, 11 students
Students of general and vocational stream will be promoted through assessment of 10 marks. Five marks for the project and five marks for review of one syllabus book from the library.

NEW DELHI: Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has set norms for the mass promotion of Class 9 and 11 students. In the report card, schools have to mention ‘Due to COVID-19, exams were not conducted.’ However, exams of GSHSEB Class 10 and 12 are postponed till June.
Schools will assess the students of Class 9 and 11 science stream based on internal assessment, periodical tests of 10 marks, notebook submission of 5 marks and subject enrichment activity of 5 marks.
Whereas students of vocational and general stream will be assessed on the basis of term paper of 10 marks - five marks for the project and five marks review of one syllabus book from the library. Therefore, 50 marks of the first exam that was held and 20 marks of internal assessment will be converted into 100 marks to prepare results.
For grace marks, school principals will have the authority to award more than 10 as grace marks to promote students. Till now, there was a restriction of a maximum of 10 as grace marks. However, since the government cancelled the examination, some new changes were introduced for the mass promotion of Class 1 to 9 and 11 students for the 2020-21 academic session.
