NEW DELHI: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board will start the registration process for Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2025 (GUJCET 2025) from December 17. The GUJCET notification also comes as a clarification amid speculations on Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2025) replacing the state entrance test for engineering and pharmacy admissions.

The GUJCET 2025 exam will be conducted by the Gujarat Board for Group A, Group B, and Group AB students of HSC science stream. The GUJCET information bulletin along with the registration link will be hosted on the official website, gseb.org, on December 17.

Students seeking admission in the engineering, pharmacy diploma, degree courses will have to fill up the GUJCET application form 2025 before December 31 to be eligible for the exam. Interested students will have to pay Rs 350 online through SBIePay System or from any SBI branch of the country through SBlePay option of "SBI Branch Payment”.

A total of 1,37,799 candidates appeared for the state-level engineering entrance exam last year. Of this, 75,558 are boys and 62,241 are girls. Several reports suggested the possibility of replacing GUJCET with JEE Main for the 2025 academic year. However, the state board’s latest notification clears up speculations.

The entrance exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode for a duration of 3 hours. As per the question paper pattern, candidates will be given 120 minutes to attend physics and chemistry sections and 60 minutes for mathematics.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main 2025 exam in two sessions - session 1 will commence on January 22 and session 2 on April 1.
