Himadri Das joins IMI New Delhi as Director General

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 9: Prof. Himadri Das has been appointed as the Director General of International Management Institute (IMI). He succeeded Dr. Debashis Chatterjee, who is currently the Director at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode. Prior to joining IMI, he has served as Directors at MDI Gurgaon and Great Lakes Institute of Management Gurgaon.
Prior to that, Prof. Das had a stint of over a decade at IMI in various roles, which included Professor, Executive MBA Programme Director, Academic Dean and Admission Chairperson. He is coming back to IMI after almost six years as the Director General.
He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Luxembourg, the University of Tampere in Finland, and the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France.
Prior to these academic roles, he has about 13 years of corporate experience mainly in the IT products and services industry, in the US and India, for software multinationals involved with products for engineering and financial applications.
Prof. Das has done his B.Tech. and MBA from IIT Delhi and has an M.S. and PhD from the University of Virginia, USA.
IMI New Delhi was established in 1981 in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD, Lausanne). The B-School is also India's first corporate sponsored Business School with sponsorship from corporate houses like RPG Enterprises, Nestle, ITC, SAIL, Tata Chemicals, BOC and Williamson Magor etc. and various other international linkages with bodies like World Bank, UNDP, ILO, UNCTAD, Asian Productivity Organization etc. Besides this, IMI is one of the empanelled Institute of the Ministry of External Affairs, GOI, for special Commonwealth Assistance Programme under which the Institute gets the executive MBA students from various Afro - Asian countries for its 15 months Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management.
