The symposium will be held in collaboration with UNCITRAL’s Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific; researchers and students can submit papers by November 25.

The Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, has invited research papers for an international symposium on ‘access to credit for micro, small and medium enterprises’ (MSMEs). The online symposium will be held on December 8, 2026, as part of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Asia Pacific Days 2026.
The event is organised by HNLU’s Centre for WTO and WIPO Studies and School for Law and Technology, in partnership with the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific. The symposium is being held to mark 60 years since UNCITRAL was established by a United Nations General Assembly resolution in December 1966.
The last date to submit full research papers is November 25, 2026. HNLU Raipur will make the paper acceptance announcement on November 28. Registration for participation will remain open until December 1 and there is no registration fee for the symposium.
The symposium will focus on how legal frameworks for secured transactions can improve access to finance for MSMEs. The online programme will also include an inaugural session, a panel discussion on the future of MSME finance and technical sessions for research paper presentations.
Academics, researchers, legal professionals, policymakers, banking and finance experts, industry representatives, doctoral scholars and students from India and abroad can submit papers in English. Contributions from law, economics, banking, business, international trade, public policy and related fields will be accepted.
The word count of the papers must be between 8,000 and 10,000 words, including the abstract and footnotes, and follow the 21st edition of Bluebook citation rules. Submissions can have up to two authors and they must use Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment.
Research papers will be shortlisted based on quality, originality, and relevance. Selected papers can also be considered for publication in an edited book, depending on the editorial requirements.
