HP NEET Counselling 2021: Who can apply for MBBS, BDS admission?

Try NowNEW DELHI: The HP NEET 2021 counselling will be conducted online by Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla. The name of candidates appearing on the merit list will be eligible to attend the NEET UG 2021 HP counselling.

HPU will release the merit list for HP MBBS/BDS 2021 in online mode at hpuniv.ac.in shortly. All eligible candidates must participate in the counselling process following the merit list announcement. The qualified candidates will then be admitted to government and private medical/dental colleges in HP. The seats in HP MBBS 2021 admission will be assigned based on merit rank, preference of college and courses, availability of seats, reservation criteria, and other factors.
Only the students who will fulfil the Himachal Pradesh MBBS BDS domicile criteria 2021 are eligible to participate in the counselling process for state quota seats. A total of 870 MBBS and 191 BDS seats are being offered in various state medical and dental colleges through HP NEET 2021 counselling.
HP NEET 2021 domicile eligibility
Those seeking admission to HP NEET 2021 will need to meet the following criteria in order to avail of the 85% state quota reservation in the government medical colleges in the state:

Students who have either their parents or both of their parents who are native Himachalis, and who have passed at least two exams (out of middle or equivalent/matric or equivalent/10 +1 or equivalent/10 +2 or equivalent) from schools located in Himachal and affiliated to recognized board institutions of the country.

The candidates should be bonafide Himachalis who have either studied at Navodaya Schools in Himachal Pradesh or passed Class 10 and 12 exams under exchange programs with other navodaya schools in the country.
Candidates whose parent/s are not a bonafide Himachali, but who are employed by the Central Government/State Government of Himachal/Judiciary in the following capacity only:

A continuous two-year period of employment within the state of Himachal Pradesh within the preceding four years must be completed before January 1st of the year of passing the class 12 exam.

It is mandatory that the candidate has passed the class 11 or equivalent and class 12 or its equivalent from a recognizeinationsd school in Himachal Pradesh.

In the case of candidates whose parent/s are regular employees of the Central government or Himachal Pradesh government, or of autonomous bodies under their respective jurisdiction, the schooling criteria will be exempted, if the parent/s have been holding posts outside of Himachal Pradesh for a minimum of three years.

The candidates whose parent/s are bona fide Himachalis and working outside of Himachal with other State Governments are eligible for Himachal State Quota only if their children are not eligible for State Quota in any other state where their parent/s work.

Candidates whose parents are Himachalis and are currently serving or ex-serving in Defense/Paramilitary forces shall be unconditionally exempt from the criteria regarding schooling.
