NEW DELHI: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Solan has declared the Himachal Pradesh NMMS 2024 results today, on May 15. The HP NMMS result 2024 is announced in the form of district-wise merit list PDF. Students can check the HP NMMS HP result 2024 by visiting the official website, himachal services.nic.in. The HP NMMS exam was held on November 26, 2023.

The NMMS scheme under the Central Sector Scheme was initiated in 2008 following approval from CCEA. Its primary aim is to provide scholarships to academically outstanding students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to prevent them from dropping out at the eighth grade and to motivate them to pursue further education at the secondary level.

HP NMMS 2024: Scholarship amount

Each year, one lakh new scholarships are granted to selected ninth-grade students, with the opportunity for renewal in classes X to XII, enabling them to study in state government, government-aided, and local body schools. The NMMS scholarship amount was increased to Rs. 12,000 per annum from April 1, 2017 previously it was Rs. 6,000 per year.

HP NMMS 2024: Selection

Every State or UT conducts its individual examination to select students for the NMMS. This examination is held in Class 8. Students meeting the eligibility criteria are required to successfully pass both the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) as part of the NMMSS exam, achieving a combined aggregate of at least 40% marks. However, for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, the qualifying mark is 32%.
