HPBOSE conducts EMRSST 2024 for Class 6 scheduled tribe students; exam on April 28

NEW DELHI: Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is conducting the Eklavya Model Residential School Selection Test (EMRSST) 2024 for the admission of scheduled tribe (ST) students into Class 6 of Eklavya model residential schools across Himachal Pradesh. The application process for the EMRSST 2024 exam is underway.

The last date to fill out the EMRSST 2024 application form is March 28. The application form correction window will open from March 29 to 31. The EMRSST 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on April 28. As per the official notification, the admit card for the EMRSST 2024 will be issued four days before the exam.

Students from all the categories are exempted from paying any application fee to register for EMRSST 2024.

The EMRSST 2024 exam is conducted for Class 5 passed students belonging to scheduled tribes and students who have lost their parents to insurgencies, COVID, children of widows, Divyang parents and others such as land donors, orphans etc. to provide admission to Eklavya model residential schools.

EMRSST 2024: Eligibility criteria

Students can check the EMRSST 2024 eligibility criteria, before applying for it.

  • The students should have a residential certificate from Himachal Pradesh.
  • Students should have passed Class 5 from a government school, government-aided school, government-recognized school, CBSE-affiliated school, or level B of the National Institute of Open Schooling Online Based Examinations (NIOS OBE) programme during the 2023-24 academic session.
  • Students should have not been expelled from any school.
  • Class 5 students who are going to appear in the exam by March 31, 2024, are eligible to apply for EMRSST-2024. However, they will be considered for counselling only if they successfully pass their Class 5 exams during the 2023-24 session.
  • Students who have pursued home education without attending school are also eligible to apply forEMRSST-2024. In such cases, their parents or guardians should fill a self-declaration form to confirm their home education.
