HP PAT 2026 registration begins for admission to engineering, other diploma courses; apply by May 5

HP PAT 2026 will be held on May 17 in a single shift from 10 am to 1 pm at 29 centres across the state. The exam will be held for admission to engineering, non-engineering courses.
The Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) has started registration for the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2026. Eligible candidates can fill the PAT 2026 application form through the official website at hptechboard.com by May 5.
The HP Shiksha Board will conduct the PAT 2026 exam for admission to diploma courses in engineering and non-engineering fields on May 17 across several districts in Himachal Pradesh.
The college entrance test will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at 29 centres across the state. Candidates who have passed Class 10 exams with at least 35% marks and have a domicile resident of HP are eligible to apply for the HP PAT 2026.
Notably, students who are currently appearing in their final exams are also eligible to apply.
General and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates can pay Rs 750 and 400 respectively as PAT 2026 registration charges, while those from reserved categories should have to pay Rs 100 as application fee.
HP PAT 2026 will be conducted for admission to BTech and non-technical programmes at government and private polytechnic colleges in HP.
The polytechnic courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and registered ITIs, and also approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
As per the exam pattern, the HP PAT 2026 question paper will include four sections, mainly Physics, Maths, Chemistry and English. The paper will comprise of 150 questions with four marks for every correct answer and a negative one mark for every incorrect response.

- On the homepage, click on the HP PAT 2026 registration link.
- A new window will open.
- Enter name, email ID and mobile number.
- Fill other details such as personal and academic.
- Upload scanned documents, such as a photograph and a signature
- Pay the application fee online
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
