Hyderabad Metro introduces metro student passes: KT Rama Rao

With the help of the Hyderabad Metro passes, students can recharge for 20 rides for 30 days and get extra 10 rides free.
NEW DELHI: The Hyderabad Metro has announced the introduction of the ‘Metro Student Pass’. With the use of the newly introduced Metro Student Pass, students can recharge for 20 rides and get 30 rides in 30 days. To avail of the Hyderabad Metro pass, students will have to show their school or college identity card at the metro station and get it recharged.
The minister of municipal administration and urban development of Telangana, KT Rama Rao, while announcing the move said: “Students are a large segment of Hyderabad Metro Rail commuters. They can now pay for only 20 trips and enjoy traveling 30 trips!”

Hyderabad Metro runs between 6 am and 11 pm. The first train, as per Hyderabad Metro website data, starts at 6 am and the last train departs at 11 pm from all terminal stations.
Hyderabad Metro services are available across the city and are connected by three different lines -- red, green and blue, and three interchange stations.
While the red line rund from Miyapur to L B Nagar via MG Bus Station, Nampally and Ameerpet, the green and blue lines run from JBS Parade Ground to MG Bus Station via Secunderabad, and between Nagole and Raidurg via Secunderabad and Ameerpet, respectively.

Hailing the decision, several Twitter users have posted on Twitter. While one tweet said: “The introduction of new smart card passes by Hyderabad Metro for students will undoubtedly enhance their commuting experience. Starting from July 1, it also reduces traffic congestion, pollution, and overall carbon footprint.”

Another Twitter user added: “This was really needed as this will help in motivating the students to take the metro and is more convenient and safe.”
