CA Inter, Final exams May 2024 to be postponed? Aspirants, CAs speculate on 3-week deferment

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) CA Final and Intermediate exams May 2024 are likely to get postponed, as per speculations on social media. Various chartered accountant aspirants and some CAs shared on social media that CA Inter, Final exams 2024 will be postponed by three weeks and an official announcement will be made before March 16, based on reliable source information.

#ICAI is trending on Twitter, now X, as students and CAs are sharing their views about exam postponement and the recent decision by the institute regarding conduct of exams. Recently, ICAI announced that CA Intermediate and CA Final exams will be conducted thrice a year. Currently, the exams are held twice a year.

A CA aspirant said in a post, “Confirmed from reliable source. ICAI exams set to be postponed. Official announcement will be out on or before 16th March. Approx 20 days extension.”

A chartered accountant said that the final decision about the exam dates will be taken after the release of the election schedule. “CA Final and Inter exams are likely to be postponed by 3 weeks approx. It may start in the last week of May. The final decision will be taken after the election schedule. (Which is likely to be declared on or after 15th March),” he wrote on X.

The institute had earlier said that it may postpone the May session exams to avoid clash with general elections for the 18th Lok Sabha this year. “The Examination Committee may reschedule May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of General Election coincide with the present examination schedule,” ICAI stated in an official statement.

According to the official schedule of CA exams, the CA Final May exam 2024 will be held from May 2, 4, 6 for group 1; May 8, 10, 12 for group 2. CA Inter exams May 2024 for group 1 and 2 will be held from May 3 to 13.
