ICAI awards CA membership certificates to 20,000 new chartered accountants across 15 cities

ICAI convocation 2025 was held simultaneously at 15 centres as ICAI leaders and chief guest highlighted ethics, governance, and nation-building role of CAs.

The institute of chartered accountants of India (ICAI) organised a nationwide convocation ceremony across 15 locations to confer membership certificates on newly qualified chartered accountants and felicitate rank holders.

The simultaneous event was held in cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Chandigarh and others.

Around 20,000 newly enrolled chartered accountants were formally inducted into the profession, marking the beginning of their professional careers.

The convocation was inaugurated from New Delhi by the chief guest, Vivek Bharadwaj, IAS, secretary, ministry of panchayat raj, in the presence of ICAI president Charanjot Singh Nanda, vice-president Prasanna Kumar D, secretary Jai Kumar Batra, and ICAI council members.

ICAI focus on ethics, governance and professional responsibility

Bharadwaj highlighted ICAI’s role in strengthening the accounting profession through education, mentorship and grassroots capacity-building, including training accountants at the Panchayat level. He emphasised that professional success must be defined by ethical conduct, continuous learning and service to society.

ICAI president Charanjot Singh Nanda congratulated the new members and administered the oath, describing ICAI membership as a commitment to independence, integrity and professional excellence.

He underlined the growing relevance of chartered accountants in public finance, panchayati raj institutions and governance reforms.

Vice-president Prasanna Kumar D stressed that ethics and integrity remain the foundation of the profession, noting that Indian chartered accountants are globally respected for their competence, adaptability and trustworthiness.

ICAI conducts convocations twice a year to formally welcome new members into the chartered accountancy fraternity, reinforcing professional values and a sense of collective responsibility.
