NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided to cancel the CA July 2020 attempt due to coronavirus pandemic. ICAI had postponed the CA May 2020 session twice due to the coronavirus pandemic. On June 15, ICAI announced student the facility to opt out facility from the July session and appear for the November session. A PIL has also been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the opt out facility and seeking increase in exam centres for the upcoming July session. CA July 2020 Exam - Live Updates
July 3, 2020: After reviewing the current situation of COVID and the continued lockdown in certain states today, ICAI has decided to cancel the July exam and merge it with the November session. ICAI has also released an official notification regarding the same.
July 2, 2020
11:15 AM: ICAI seeks time from Supreme Court to contact exam centres to assess feasibility of holding exams at all amid rising COVID-19 cases.
11:05 AM: Supreme Court lists the hearing for next week. ICAI in the interim to contact all exam centres and check whether conducting the exam in this term is possible or not.
10: 45 AM: A Bench of Justices Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna to pass formal order in the Final Supreme Court hearing.
10: 35 AM: ICAI to submit fresh notification specifying the extension of opt-out deadline and allowing students to opt-out of the July 2020 session midway due to any corona related issues.
10:28 AM: Final Supreme Court hearing by a three-judge bench will begin shortly.
