ICAR AIEEA PG, AICE-PhD 2024 exam date announced; to be held on June 15

NEW DELHI: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has announced the tentative exam date for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes in agriculture and allied subjects. The AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) exams will be conducted on June 15.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the ICAR entrance exam for PG, PhD courses. On the other hand, admission to ICAR all India quota (AIQ) undergraduate seats will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2024). The NTA CUET UG 2024 registration process will be closed on March 26.
The controller of examinations advised candidates to submit the application form at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ before the deadline. Instructions specific to ICAR-UG 2024 for agriculture and allied sciences programmes have been hosted on icar.org.in.

AIEEA-PG, AICE–PhD 2024
Through the AIEEA-PG exam 2024, 30% of the PG seats in agricultural universities will be filled. All 100% seats of the four ICAR-deemed universities namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and CAUs, viz. RLBCAU, Jhansi and Dr RPCAU, Pusa are also filled up through the same examination.
Not more than 40% candidates from any one state will be admitted in any agricultural university in a particular subject and category, the council said.
During 2022-23, against the total 3,098 seats, 2,520 candidates were recommended by the ICAR for admission to PG courses in 66 accredited universities under the ICAR- AU system. For PhD programmes, against the total of 1,420 seats, 1,073 candidates were recommended by ICAR.
ICAR AIEEA PG-2024 examination is expected to be held at 89 exam cities for 81 sub-subjects under 20 major subject-groups and 72 subjects under JRF-SRF PhD.
The PG exam is held for admission to masters’ degree programmes in different disciplines of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, veterinary, animal sciences, agricultural engineering, community science, fisheries, dairy science and other allied sciences.
