CUET ICAR 2025: Admission to over 5,800 seats in 13 agriculture courses; list of universities, eligibility

CUET UG 2025 will be used to fill the all-India quota (AIQ) seats under ICAR in courses including BSc Agriculture, BTech Agriculture and agribusiness.
NEW DELHI : Over 70 agriculture universities and colleges will participate in the CUET ICAR 2025 – the section of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) specifically for 13 undergraduate agriculture and allied programmes, including BSc Agriculture. The CUET UG 2025 will be used to fill the all-India quota (AIQ) seats, over 5,800 in total, last year. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the regulator for agriculture education, issued its UG admission notification today.
The 13 programmes listed in ICAR's agriculture admissions 2025 bulletin include BSc Agriculture, BTech Agriculture, Agribusiness programmes, BSc Horticulture, and BTech Dairy Technology. The CUET UG 2025 registration is open till March 22, at the National Testing Agency (NTA) portal, cuet.nta.nic.in
Some of the top agriculture universities and institutes to participate in CUET UG ICAR 2025, include the top-ranking Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI Pusa or Pusa Institute), University of Agricultural Sciences with 22 seats, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, offering six seats, and Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar, offering 21 seats.
"There is no provision of direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Bachelor degree programs in Agriculture and Allied Sciences without qualifying in CUET (ICAR UG) 2025," says the ICAR CUET UG 2025 bulletin.
Top agriculture universities
Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) or Pusa Institute is the top agriculture institution in the country according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Some of the other top-ranked institutions that will participate in the CUET UG 2025 for undergraduate agriculture admissions are listed below.

- Punjab Agricultural University
- Banaras Hindu University
- Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
- Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar
- Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University
- G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology
- Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Fisheries University
- Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Kashmir
- University of Agricultural Sciences
Agriculture courses with admission through CUET UG
Admission to a total of 13 undergraduate courses is through the CUET exam this year. This is one more than last year when 12 courses were covered.
The list of courses is given below:
- Bsc (Hons) Agriculture
- BSc (Hons) Horticulture
- BFSc Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences
- BSc (Hons) Forestry
- BSc (Hons) Community Science
- BSc (Hons) Food Nutrition and Dietetics
- BSc (Hons) Natural Farming
- BSc (Hons) Agribusiness Management
- BTech Agricultural Engineering
- BTech Dairy Technology
- BTech Food Technology
- BTech Biotechnology
The new addition to the list is BSc (Hons) Agribusiness Management. Agribusiness is a rising field that addresses the business of agriculture, food production and sale. That said, admission to top agribusiness colleges is via the CAT exam.
ICAR CUET UG eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria, as stated in the ICAR bulletin for the ICAR CUET UG 2025 are as follows:
- Candidate should have passed Class 12 with at least three subjects out of physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and agriculture, inter-agriculture as core subjects.
- Candidates must write the exam in only the three subjects stated in the form. Any change will lead to rejection.
- Participating universities may have other conditions for admission under university statute.
The other ICAR CUET UG 2025 exam dates will be the same as scheduled by the NTA for CUET UG 2025 exams .
